The first Sorrento Meeting brought DALI-style workshops and a plenary to the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. Cambridge colleagues chaired the meeting.
The Sorrento Meeting 2025 ran from 13–16 April 2025 at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento, Italy. Conceived in the spirit of the DALI (Data, Learning and Inference) workshops, it combined two days of parallel research workshops with a middle day of plenary talks and posters, and an invitation-oriented format that leaves time for discussion.
General chairs were Neil Lawrence, Hanni Sondermann, Andrei Paleyes and Christian Cabrera. Workshop themes included AI for science, causality and complex systems, LLMs for social impact — co-organised by Morine Amutorine — and communication of uncertainty.
